Reflecting the rich heritage of bread making throughout Europe, we bake a select variety of Artisan Breads in a European brick hearth oven.  These are breads beloved in their homelands for centuries and created here with specialized skills that no machine can truly duplicate.  We use flour that is naturally pure & wholesome and each loaf is shaped by hand. To our knowledge, no other supermarket in the State of Illinois is baking Artisan Breads from scratch.
 
We recommend that you place the bread in a 400 degree oven for 4 to 5 minutes before serving.  That will crisp up the crust and soften the interior.  Artisan breads are great served with seasoned olive oil & parmesan cheese for dipping!
 
The skills of our bakers make the difference in artisan breads as much as the quality of the ingredients and the absence of artificial leavening or flavoring agents.  Each step that takes the bread from formless dough to the finished loaf depends on the watchful diligence and discernment of the baker.  Therefore, it’s normal for artisan breads to have variations of shape, texture, and color.
